Description

This Viral Mac & Cheese is creamy, flavorful, and incredibly easy to make, perfect for comfort food lovers.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Garlic powder, optional

Instructions

  1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the macaroni until just tender.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter and whisk in the flour to create a roux.
  3. Slowly pour in the milk while whisking until the mixture is smooth and slightly thickened.
  4. Add in the cream cheese and cheddar, stirring until melted and combined.
  5. Combine the cheese sauce with the drained pasta, stirring until well mixed.
  6. Season with salt, pepper, and additional cheese if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

Letting the macaroni sit for five minutes before serving helps thicken the sauce. If using gluten-free pasta, be cautious to not overboil.
