Description

A quick and delicious bowl featuring ground beef in a sweet and spicy hot honey sauce served over rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Ground Beef (85-90% lean)
  • 1 Onion (diced, yellow or white)
  • 3 tbsp Soy Sauce (low sodium)
  • 3 tbsp Honey (hot or regular + chili flakes)
  • 1 tsp Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1 tbsp Rice Vinegar
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 3 cups Cooked Rice (Jasmine preferred)
  • Green Onions (for topping)
  • Sesame Seeds (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet, draining excess fat if necessary.
  2. Add diced onion and cook until soft and slightly brown.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
  4. Pour in soy sauce, honey, red pepper flakes, and rice vinegar, scraping up any brown bits.
  5. Simmer until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Scoop the beef mixture over cooked rice and top with green onions and sesame seeds as desired.

Notes

Warm your honey before mixing for better consistency. Adjust spice level according to preference. Leftovers can be stored for three days in the fridge or frozen for future meals.
