Description

Ingredients

  • 1 can baked beans
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic paste (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger paste (optional)
  • 4 slices of bread (sourdough or white)
  • 1 cup cheese (cheddar, paneer, or mozzarella)
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and sauté onions until they begin to caramelize.
  2. Add cumin, garam masala, chili powder, garlic, and ginger paste; stir for two minutes.
  3. Dump in the baked beans and let simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Toast the bread until crispy.
  5. Spoon the masala beans over the toasted bread.
  6. Top with a thick layer of cheese and broil for 1-2 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
  7. Garnish with cilantro and serve immediately.

Notes

You can add other toppings like sliced red onions, fried eggs, diced avocados, or chopped green chilies for extra flavor.
