- 1 can baked beans
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon garlic paste (optional)
- 1 tablespoon ginger paste (optional)
- 4 slices of bread (sourdough or white)
- 1 cup cheese (cheddar, paneer, or mozzarella)
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and sauté onions until they begin to caramelize.
- Add cumin, garam masala, chili powder, garlic, and ginger paste; stir for two minutes.
- Dump in the baked beans and let simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Toast the bread until crispy.
- Spoon the masala beans over the toasted bread.
- Top with a thick layer of cheese and broil for 1-2 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
- Garnish with cilantro and serve immediately.
Notes
You can add other toppings like sliced red onions, fried eggs, diced avocados, or chopped green chilies for extra flavor.
