Description

A simple and trendy custard yogurt toast recipe that combines creamy yogurt and egg, topped with your favorite ingredients, baked to perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 slice sturdy bread (sourdough or brioche recommended)
  • 3 tablespoons Greek yogurt (or plain yogurt)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup or honey
  • A splash of vanilla extract
  • Toppings (berries, bananas, chocolate chips, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grab a slice of bread and press down in the center with the back of a spoon to create a well.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, Greek yogurt, honey (or maple syrup), and vanilla.
  4. Spoon the mixture into the well in the bread, avoiding spills.
  5. Add your chosen toppings on top of the custard mixture.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes until the edges are golden and the center jiggles slightly.
  7. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Use sturdy bread to avoid sogginess. Add warm toppings for a gooey texture, and serve warm for best results.
