Ingredients

  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter
  • 2 cups fruit (peaches, berries, or cherries)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Place the butter in a 9×9 baking dish and let it melt in the oven.
  3. In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and milk until combined. Be careful not to overmix!
  4. Once the butter has melted, carefully pour the batter into the baking dish without stirring.
  5. Spoon the fruit evenly over the top of the batter. Again, do not stir.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 40–45 minutes, or until it is golden brown and bubbling.

Notes

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for a delightful treat. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
