Ingredients

  • 6 tbsp plain flour, heat-treated
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 60ml water
  • 40ml oil (or melted butter)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tbsp (7g) melted butter for cinnamon swirl
  • 1 tbsp light brown sugar for cinnamon swirl
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon for cinnamon swirl
  • 1 tsp granulated sugar for cinnamon sugar
  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon for cinnamon sugar

Instructions

  1. To heat-treat the flour, microwave it on medium heat for 1 minute 30 seconds, stirring frequently. Let it cool completely.
  2. In a mug, mix the heat-treated flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, water, oil (or melted butter), and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. For the cinnamon swirl, mix the melted butter, light brown sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl. Swirl it into the cake batter in the mug.
  4. For the cinnamon sugar topping, combine granulated sugar and cinnamon in another bowl.
  5. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar on top of the cake mixture.
  6. Microwave the mug cake on lower heat for about 1-2 minutes, keeping an eye on it to prevent overflow.
  7. Enjoy your delicious mug cake!
