A delightful layered chocolate cake with rich chocolate, crunchy almonds, and sweet caramel, perfect for celebrations.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 1 cup chopped almonds
- 1 cup chocolate ganache
- 1/2 cup coconut flakes
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients and beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
- Stir in the boiling water until well combined (the batter will be thin).
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn them out onto wire racks to cool completely.
- Once cooled, place one cake layer on a serving plate and spread caramel sauce over it.
- Place the second cake layer on top and pour chocolate ganache over the cake.
- Sprinkle with chopped almonds and coconut flakes before serving.
Notes
Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or a week in the fridge.
