Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add the melted butter and eggs, mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic, then let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
  4. Once risen, punch down the dough and shape it into three equal strands.
  5. Place chocolate chips along the strands, then braid them together.
  6. Let the braided dough rise for another 30-60 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Cool on a wire rack before serving.
